(1) Time for a screen cap recap. POTUS speech, while inspiring and attempts unifying American citizens, will sadly be subject to undermining simply because it is Trump as President.

EXHIBIT A: Congressional Black Caucus at statement lowest black unemployment in recorded history.

(2) Note Sheila Jackson Lee in the lower left (who I proudly claim as my Representative purely for comedic relief). She’s already fallen asleep after just 20% of the SOTU.

(3) EXHIBIT B: The image that will, despite so many candidates for the honor, define Nancy Pelosi for future books of US history. Her inability to even empathize w a politically motivated assassination attempt on Rep. Steve Scalise demonstrates multiple DSM-5 psych disorders.

(4) EXHIBIT C: Up-Chuck Schumer has been owned by POTUS and doesn’t want to be here, in full view of American Democrats who realize he was out-maneuvered in the DACA discussion, that will allow POTUS to pass a fair and reasonable immigration solution. Someone get him some fiber.

(5) EXHIBIT D: While this former North Korean no escaped to Sourh Korea is not an American, holding up the crutches that he used as an amputee to travel hundreds of miles through China to freedom could easily become the best image of America for 2018. “FREEDOM!!!”

(6) EXHIBIT E: Ending chain migration and instead incentivizing merit based, skill-based immigration, that also serves to keep Americans safe from the risk of random selection admission of immigrants, who might instead desire to harm America. Booker prefers the old way.

(7) VERY IMPORTANT: When expressing a policy to keep Americans safe against lottery migration winners that might harm Americans, Nancy Pelosi is literally seen in her first change from stoic stone face, or teeth cleaning, looking around to catch any Democrats that might applaud.

(8) EXHIBIT F: ISIS has now been almost 100% evicted from all territories held, including in Iraq and Syria. Democrats sadly can’t stand. Why? Trump did it in under a year, and Obama couldn’t (or never really tried) for the 4 to 6 years ISIS existed under him.

(9) NOTE: Several quick camera changes occurred that makes it difficult to capture an image of seated Democrats. But it’s there if you review on your own.

(10) EXHIBIT G: In a rare contrast, when Staff Sergeant Justin Peck is recognized for deeds of heroism, Democrats stand. The distinction is clear: DEMOCRAT members of Congress will outwardly show they value the INDIVIDUALS in military. But policies attributed to Trump are evil.

(11) NOTE: Trump is FULLY aware and at ease in even the most important speech all year for him. Notice his mental presence to look to his right to check if Democrats will even acknowledge a soldier for his heroism.

(12) EXHIBIT H: America will no longer tell our enemies our plans.

(13)NOTE: It May be pure coincidence, however, I did not fail to notice that the comment about no longer telling our enemies our plans was IMMEDIATELY AFTER he announced reopening Gitmo.

(14) NOTE (continued): Feel free to correct me, but as a lawyer who has spent 20 years writing arguments, the Gitmo comment very much felt inserted to a naturally flowing group of concepts. The before/after fit together nicely. Gitmo: Slightly off continuity. Hmmm.

(15) EXHIBIT I:”Thisnis our new American moment. There has never been a better time to live the American dream. Somto every citizen: No matter where you began or where you come from, this is your time. If you work hard, if you believe in yourself, if you believe in America”...

NOTE: So many powerful statements. This one deserves its own analysis of rhetoric style, and was only mid-point.
Kudos to Manchin standing.

American way. In America, we know that faith and family, not government and bureaucracy, are the center of American life. The motto is ‘In GODwe trust.’l

(18) EXHIBIT J (continued): You Gotta love Paul Ryan’s end-zone victory point to the Lord when Trump says this.

(19) I will leave this thread open, with the plan for adding a few more examples of the divide the SOTU message demonstrates in Congress.

Yes - I realize the historical practice of the party not holding the office of the presidency often refusing to stand...

(20) But the moments highlighted in this thread are today. 2018. I post them not to bash American Democrats. In fact, I’m trying to soften my own Tw’tr rhetoric & help bridge the chasm America faces today. It may be but a drop in an ocean, but the change must start w/ us...

(21) The old phrase “Be better than them” when used to encourage a change of Republican sentiment and behavior is frankly inadequate. It implies superiority, which is the core of what is fracturing American reason & dialogue. So I will place this thread on hold, w/ 2 last points:

(22) First, this divide of CIVIL discourse, and the impasse that has almost assumed a live of its own, is not American, and not the spirit of the gracious neighbors in the streets everyday. The images in this thread are provided to demonstrate the true origin: CONGRESS.

(23) Yes, I used all examples of Democrats refusing to recognize core American values. But you know why: Not from bitterness, but because Republicans hold the office of the President, & the Democrats are merely in the hot seat this year. 4 years ago, we could swap for Republicans

(24) My fellow Americans (on both sides of the ideological aisle, but also next door, in the next office at work, sitting next to me in church) - American values are eternal. Inalienable. God-given. Let’s start with the Constitution and work where Congress is not.

(25) And the second closing pointnto this thread:
“Be better than them” is not the solution or mentality for THOSE OF US ON THE RIGHT when guiding our internal compasses and external actions toward those with liberal ideologies. Yes - We have been long suffering for decades...

(26) And no one wants a vast and desperately required course correction for America more than me. And, perhaps harsh, battlefront words will be needed again. However, let’s be leaders in thought and attitude for at least a few months...

(27) The realities longtime Democrat neighbors will face the next 6 months are akin to aliens invading earth. Most have not even heard of the corruption, much less invested the almost hundreds of hours needed to understand the complexities of that corruption...

(28) Perhaps, for a few months, rather than “Be better than them” with our responses and comments can be improved by revising to:

“BE AN EXAMPLE TO THEM IN LOVE.”
