.@AshleyRParker. I disagree. There is no actual or perceived benefit in having #AxisSally @PressSec lie before reporters/tv audience. She lies nonstop and the majority of the @whca won’t push back. Even if they do, she doesn’t care. The lie gets broadcast. @KatyTurNBC (1)
The WH cadre of liars main goal is to introduce the lie into the narrative, knowing full well the lie will be amplified by @foxnews and @WeAreSinclair. If no one confronts the liar @presssec in “real time”, the lie gets out. (2)
In an ideal world all the journalists in the @whca would band together for one day pre press conference, decide on a topic for questions, and hammer her relentlessly to get a truthful answer. But the press values competition, and access over duty. (3)
Disturbing to see journalists on talk shows refuting the WH with hosts, but not doing it with any of these WH hacks like Sanders, Conway, etc in REAL TIME. Journalists must ask questions like prosecutors; knowing the answer before asking the question. (4)
Much harder to refute a lie after the fact, rather than addressing it in real time. The lie gets into the narrative. Which is the WH’s goal. The press must do better. End.
Addendum. Listening to this bogus WH press conference from #AxisSally @PressSec lying without compunction; she had the AUDACITY to state she is more trusted than the press. She is less trustworthy than #BaghdadBob, and she doesn’t give a damn. As long as the lie gets out.
