Another point on asylum accommodation: people who get leave to remain in the UK are *also* served with eviction notices from their Serco accommodation & expected to find new digs very quickly. Many of them register with @GlasgowCC homelessness services.
There’s very very little transition period given or opportunity for folk to find an income (which they’re not allowed to do as asylum seekers, of course). @GlasgowCC finds folk permanent accommodation as quickly as possible, but we get not a penny of assistance from @GOVUK
