1) PM says returning to Brussels on Saturday for more talks with JC Juncker and others to finalise text of #Brexit deal ahead of Sunday summit of EU leaders

2) But a number of EU countries saying their leaders not keen to come to Brussels summit if too many unresolved issues - eg Merkel and Macron

3) Theoretically then we could find out on Saturday after the PM’s Brussels meetings with Juncker and others that the seal the deal Sunday #Brexit summit has been cancelled

4) EU more relaxed about summit timing than the PM. She has been pushing for a November summit. EU leaders think it can happen in December

5) The delays in finalising the text on the future EU-U.K. partnership are due to last minute demands from EU countries (like France over fishing and Spain over Gibraltar arrangements), not just the UK

6) Problem for negotiators is: if they appease one - ie give France what they want on fishing or give the PM the cherry picking she wants in the single market, they inevitably end up upsetting the other ‘side’ .. which is why the draft future declaration text is still incomplete

7) Mix in the temptation for EU leaders to use #Brexit negotiations to score political points at home (Macron, Sanchez) and the PM’s need to show critics the final #brexit deal was hard fought and hard won .. et violà. Here we are
