OMG MATTIS IS RETIRING
#BREAKING One day after Trump's shocking decision to pull out of Syria (to Russia's delight), Mattis resigns. His resignation letter makes clear he believes Trump mistreats allies, disrespects alliances & hasn't stood up resolutely & unambiguously to adversaries Russia and China.
CNN chyron sums up a day of more Trump chaos than usual after Mattis news: “Defense Secretary Quits In Protest Over Trump Middle East Policy as Government Shutdown Looms and Financial Markets Tank”
Worth noting, Trump's tweet announcing Mattis was "retiring" was false. Mattis didn't retire. He resigned b/c he couldn't support this disaster of a president. Mattis handed Trump a letter that made that clear. Goes to show you, nothing Trump says can be trusted. Nothing.

Trump’s rant at WH meeting today even made Bill Shine—disgraced FoxNews exec now head White House PR guy—squirm. He couldn’t sit still, as Trump rattled off his usual ignorant propaganda talking points and self-praise.
“What’s he done for me?”—Trump on Mattis, says he fired him because “I want results.” This rant at WH cabinet meeting is just incredible. It’s like he’s on speed. He just can’t shut up🤐. TV cameras should pan out—to capture the reaction of people in room.
How dumb is Trump? Really really REALLY dumb: "The reason Russia went into Afghanistan was because terrorists were going into Russia. They were right to be there. That's why there's no Soviet Union."

It's a miracle we've survived 2 years of this. Not sure about the next two.

#Russia will never ask #Iran (and allies) to pull out of #Syria or out of the south of #Syria.

Russia wants to avoid further clashes between #Israel & #Iran in Syria and will try to do so to the benefit of the central government In #Damascus.
#Russia understands that #Iran was in #Syria 1st (2013 heavily) to help #Damascus to fight #ISIS, #AQ and their allies supported (finance, weapons, intel) by Arab, Israel and western countries to stop "regime change".

Russia came to join the already ongoing effort in 2015.
Unlike what many "pop-corn analysts", "Twitter or divan journalists/analysts" might say, #Assad - although very grateful for Moscow's intervention not only in Syria but also at the UN and various platforms - can and did disagree with #Russia in few battles north and south.
