Not to put too fine a point on it, different platforms — Apple, Facebook, Google, Twitter — all have pros & cons when it comes to privacy. There are no absolutes, no magic bullets, no white knights.

Doubtless some will chime in with YES BUT CAMBIFACEBOOKYTICARESEARCHAPPCERTIFICATES MEANS EVERYTHING IS DIFFERENT NOW — but in truth, nothing has changed. People are just more aware, and risk overfocusing on one thing and ignoring the good/bad that is everywhere.
