Supercharging at Strasburg, VA, one of my top 3 superchargers in the USA for the kick-off of another EV road trip.

I'm going to do a tough range run straight to Parkersburg West Virginia. This leg is at the very limit of what my car can do. Can I do it? 1/x

With so many @tesla supercharger locations in the USA and even longer-range cars than mine, a leg with an energy graph like this is now largely a choice.

My bail out is to divert down to Weston once I get West of the mountains but I don't think I will need that. 2/x
My 2014 Model S had 265 rated miles of range when new. This 100% charge ended with 257 after 94,600 miles on the odometer. That's just 8 miles of range loss! Amazing. Thank you @elonmusk, JB and the whole @tesla team for making the world's best EVs. 3/x
Made it! @tesla's energy predictions are again remarkably accurate. Graphs are of the original prediction and the actual usage. Even better is that with this graph, you can easily manage your energy as you traverse the segment by adjusting to what it is telling you. 4/x
And Tesla was able to make that prediction even when the route traversed this elevation profile across the mountains. 5/x
Once again @sheetz makes me drive to some far away place (Parkersburg WV) to visit another supercharger. I'd be half way across Ohio by any other route. Jeez. 😋 On a serious note, if you're gonna use single-use plastic containers for your salads, at least offer recycling. 6/x
I have left @sheetz supercharger territory and entered @meijer territory. Soon I'll be in @HyVee territory. @tesla has some great partners.
Fisher, Carmel, and Zionsville, Indiana. All three are very new locations on the north side of Indianapolis. All are in great locations for shopping or food. 8/x
.@pluginsites and @seanmmitchell , if you ever need an example of where signage is done correctly, you can't get much better than the supercharger in downtown Indianapolis. No beating around the bush here. Hint, zoom in on the green and white sign. 9/x

Terre Haute supercharger. The default template location for @tesla superchargers @meijer seems to be the back right corner of the lot when looking out from the store. 11/x
Effingham, IN supercharger is at the Jack Flash. Had a great conversation with a Wounded Warrior who served in Afghanistan. Answered a bunch of his questions about Teslas and EVs. He's considering one for his next car after his buddy just bought one. 12/x
Lowe's St Louis. 13/x
Made it to a St. Louis @BurgerKing to try the @ImpossibleFoods Whopper. I think they have a hit. I can't wait until I can stop at any Burger King to satiate my comfort food cravings without having to eat beef. Thank you for leading the way Burger King. 14/x
Obviously that was supposed to be Hello, Saint Louis.
The greater St Louis area currently has three superchargers: Mehlville and two in St. Charles, MO.
Tesla unveiled a new approach this weekend in which they cap supercharging to 80% at high-volume locations. Smart move. Unclear whether they will do this continuously or just during holidays. St. Charles, MO is one of the locations. 16/x
The Rolla Missouri supercharger is @BandanasBBQ. It smells great and it is taking all of my discipline to not have a meal here... I've already had my allotment of calories today. I sure do appreciate Bandana's supporting @tesla's superchargwr network. 17/x
I am at the southernmost point of my current road trip and heading to a town called Osage Beach in the Ozarks. I've long wanted to get to this supercharger so I'm looking forward to it. 18/x
The big surprise is the supercharger is at a @HyVee. I didn't know they were this far south. Anywho. Nice to be at the Lake of the Ozarks.
Lake of the Ozarks. 20/x
An unbelievable amount of damage just south of Jefferson City from tornadoes. Steal wrapped around poles. Entire buildings gone. Debris everywhere. 22/x

The new @tesla supercharger in Shelby, Iowa at @TheCornCrib. What a great little place to stop, get some grub, and enjoy the beautiful scenery. 23/x.
.@kumandgo is becoming a player in the supercharger space. This one is in Altoona, IA and makes a nice addition to those travelling eastbound, especially when coming south from the Twin Cities. Thanks for the nice salad, too. 24/x
Hello again, Minnesota. 25/x
.@tesla, I was originally on your side with the 80% policy but it is too blunt. I'm at the Oakdale, MN charger. Few others here, yet I still got the warning. Dad has no charging at his place, so I really need to charge beyond 80%. The car kept charging past 80% anyway. 26/x
27/27 - and after 2,100 miles, 18 new-to-me superchargers, and surpassing 400 unique supercharger locations visited, I arrived at Dad's place. The direct route is only about 1.100 miles. 🤣
