@humcommons 3. There was an excitement in class since there were no traditional research papers that most dreaded in this required course. They could experiment with their voice when writing for a more diverse audience. #HCTwitterConf19
@humcommons 4. The audience included people beyond the academia creating #spaceforpublicnegotiation as Linda Flowers suggests. "Was a good way for her parents to get a peek into her writing & academic growth", a student remarked. #HCTwitterConf19
@humcommons 5. While the world & text are brought together with Wordpress where students feel ownership of their work (that they can continue even after the course is over), I see some scope for improvement. #HCTwitterConf19
@humcommons 6. This is where @Humanities Commons comes in. As an #inter-disciplinary platform meant to promote open access scholarship, HC can be a good space for showcasing student work. #HCTwitterConf19
@humcommons @humanities 7. HC should be used not only as syllabi depository but also a place to create class websites, a live example of teaching (can be seen as an alternative to Blackboard and Canvas). #tags #categories for easy access. #HCTwitterConf19
@humcommons @humanities 8. HC as a platform for student websites. That would help with, a) #genre exploration: Students can look at each other's writing samples observing for the style, tone, and other specific conventions... #HCTwitterConf19
@humcommons @humanities 9. ...b) #understandingthediscoursecommunity: Would help in exchange of ideas & arguments, opening up cross-university conversations on issues of gender, race, politics, etc. #HCTwitterConf19
@humcommons @humanities 10. c) # developing an academic presence: Whether or not students want to pursue academics further, showcasing their work to peers (along with rest of the web) will motivate them to research & produce original scholarship. #HCTwitterConf19
@humcommons @humanities 11. d) # Critiquing: Finally, it will hone their critiquing skills when they provide feedback to their peers and lead to an understanding of their own writing (Instructors can coordinate for facilitating this). #HCTwitterConf19
@humcommons @humanities 12. Therefore, I see a lot of potential in using HC as a collaborative teaching & writing platform, some of which I have tried to elaborate on. Any questions, doubts, or further thoughts on these ideas are welcome. #HCTwitterConf19
