Is the UK really going to war because Iran seized a Swedish owned ship with no UK crew? When did we, because the owners for their own tax and regulatory reasons chose a UK flag, accept this obligation? Must we indulge this nationalistic willy-waving?

So it looks like he broke this law (legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2016/219/…). But the really interesting question is, what was he doing there?
"They gave me someone else's name... and I helped the Vote Leave campaign [unclear] whether they'd won in Portsmouth or not." Who is the "they" who gave him the fake ID?

Why is @goodlawproject bringing the case to stop Parliament being suspended in Scotland (crowdjustice.com/case/dont-susp…)? A thread.
(1) Journalists I spoke to were sceptical of the notion that a judge in Scotland might be able to bind the Prime Minister. But Scots law binds the PM just like English law does.
(2) And there are practical advantages to bringing a case in Scotland. First, the Court of Session does not adjourn over the Summer as the High Court does – and this is important in circumstances where time is very short.

In the world's least surprising news, the BBC (which has de facto blacklisted me) has Darren Grimes on to smear me and the work @GoodLawProject does. Because @RobBurl won't give me the opportunity to respond, let me make a few points here. theneweuropean.co.uk/top-stories/da…
First, in the judicial review in question, Vote Leave and the Electoral Commission were on the same side, both arguing @GoodLawProject was wrong. Both lost.
Second, Vote Leave accepted the outcome of the investigation and the judicial review. That Vote Leave cheated is a matter of fact.

Right, so, here's the bottom line: The US has worked itself into a position whose likely outcomes are (a) war (b) internal regime change or (c) lasting damage to U.S. global leadership. I think we're heading for the latter. But first, I want to back up and review how we got here
For about 30 years, the U.S. & Iran maintained a cold, uncomfortable peace, generally content to hurl no more than invective at each other. Even in #Iraq, where #IRGC-backed militias attacked US forces, the two found their strategic interests aligned more often than not.

1) I take the position that the U.S. is in a state of war with more than one country. War being defined as a hostile attack with the aim of invasion and takeover.
2) I thought this fact was obvious, but apparently it is not, because some people are still kind of laid back about the whole thing.
3) Let's start with Iran.
