One of the main reasons #Brexit hasn't been put out of its misery is the utter failure of some TV media to hold brexiters to account

@Peston @BorisJohnson 2) the BBC has been attacked in particular but even the BBC is finding it impossible to not report on the destruction that Johnson and Brexiters are causing

But Johnson it appears can always get a safe harbour when he needs it on the #Peston show

@Peston @BorisJohnson 3) to recap the last few days - Johnson has clearly been manoeuvring for a GE and to force thru no deal #Brexit and has failed. He's kicked out 21 decent long standing Tory MPs for his own purposes. He's lied about non existent negotiations & being close to a deal.

he's done all of this to serve only him self, not his party much less the country

A party political Broadcast rather than an interview, a 10 minute unchallenged platform on TV

@Peston @BorisJohnson 6) on a day when Johnson's self serving game playing & gambling with the country was laid bare, this man who has shut down parliament was given the opportunity to ramble on, attacking all comers at his own pace, whilst repeating statements #Peston knew to be untrue, unchallenged

@Peston @BorisJohnson 7) you might say "that's just #Peston's way, he's not confrontational"...well then we get his barracking of @jessphillips immediately afterwards,interrupting her repeatedly (and all his guests), attacking their strategy to save the country, whilst giving a free ride to Johnson

@Peston @BorisJohnson @jessphillips 8) finally he chuckles at Johnson's behaviour, aghast at the idea that anyone MP might actually not be self serving whilst a clearly annoyed Grieve has to put him straight.

He then ends with "well, TBF, Johnson's not the only one to be self serving"

He's a disgrace. Worse, he's morphed into a shill for Johnson. It is unbelievable that an @ITV Anchor could laugh off his behaviour last night

Well he knows now and his response was to give Johnson a free platform to recover after his appalling misjudgements and destructive behaviour
