Here’s what I don’t understand; at what point did it seize to be essential that our president be a symbol of decency & inspiration, a reflection of all the best that America can be, fundamentally reflective of the teachings of Jesus and the Golden Rule?
At what point was it ok that a president stop exuding patriotism, humility, compassion, generosity, a keen sense of the meaning of human rights, and a fundamental compassion for the plight of the most average among us?
When did it become commonplace for a PRESIDENT to rip little babies from their mothers, strip our lands ands waters of their sanctity, enrich themselves at the expense of the taxpayers, violate women as if they were inanimate objects for his insatiable deficiencies?
When did it become ok for a PRESIDENT to flaunt the rule of law, ignore subpoenas, embarrass the selfless men and women of our intelligence services who simply keep us safe, launder money for the oligarchs of our most sworn of enemies, lie, cheat, blaspheme, shit on Veterans?
And when did it become just fine with our elected officials, our clergy, our department of Justice and every other one of the so called leaders among us to act as if these assaults on the rule of law, the Constitution, and the rule of common decency were what boys bled for?
When did we decide as a nation to say greed is good, Nazis are fine people, and cowardice is bravery? What will it take for all those cynics who stand by, knowing they are shilling for the disintegration of 241 years of history, to finally account for their treason.
How ironic, how a slogan, make america great again, just like the snake oil saleman who coined it, is the jumping off point for the worst, the most pathetic of this country I have witnessed in my time on this earth.......
