Important to remember that Trump, the NRA, and the Republican Party are all cornered and desperate and the alternate reality that gave them power in the first place is completely based in paranoid, racial fear. What they do now could cost so many lives. 1/
That alternate reality has its roots in the emergence of globalism in the 1990’s. With that system, evangelical leaders began talking about the New World Order, a global conspiracy that is quietly a rebranding of the Elders of Zion conspiracy. 2/
Following incidents at Ruby Ridge and Waco, the NRA fundraised and gained power by stoking white paranoia that Bill Clinton and the government were part of the New World Order and that they were planning on taking all their weapons. 3/
The Patriot Movement that resulted spread nationally, the construction of it intentionally mirroring Islamic terrorist cells, the leaders planning systematic terrorism to bring the country to its knees. This system is still in place but has changed subtly. 4/
Republicans saw an opportunity in partnering with the NRA. They literally worked together to both investigate Clinton and appeal to the Patriot Movement, which was largely a white supremacist movement. Right Wing media, including Rush Limbaugh, pushed violent revolution. 5/
Eventually, this led to the Oklahoma City Bombing by Timothy McVeigh, a Patriot Movement operative who followed instructions on how to carry out terrorism. It was a direct line from him to the New World Order propaganda on the Right. 6/
We’ve seen the results of this alternate reality. Insecure, unhappy, radicalized white men kill. They bomb, they walk into public places and kill in mass numbers. They listen when Trump, the NRA, and Republicans tell it’s story. 7/
What they call the Deep State is just the New World Order. No difference, whatsoever. A generation of unhappy, insecure, radicalized white men have been raised believing, based on Right Wing, NRA, Trump propaganda that they’re soldiers in an invisible war. 8/
Trump flailing and threatening a new Civil War won’t trigger a war, but there’s a system in place, both propaganda wise and physically, that has been trained for widespread violence and taught to expect a coup, a coup Trump has predicted like a cult leader. 9/
This doesn’t mean there’ll be a giant war. But cult members have a tendency to not only realize their apocalyptic visions, but also in drawing outsiders into the carnage. We need to be aware that Trump’s threats aren’t idle, and that the NRA and GOP are signaling. 10/
What’s worrisome is that we’re very early in the impeachment process and it’s already starting. The GOP know it’s in trouble. The NRA is crumbling. Every signal to these people, every New World Order dog-whistle, needs to be summarily rejected lest this get out of hand. 11/11
