“The president is in charge of foreign policy,” @TXRandy14 just said, not “career diplomats.”

Let’s be clear on what that means.

The “career diplomats” repeatedly said that supporting Ukraine against Russia is in U.S. security interests.

So Trump doesn't agree?
@TXRandy14 Yes exactly. They're deliberately confusing separate issues.

In his letter to Pelosi, Trump's concern was getting to what happened in 2016.

That isn't foreign policy.

It's also false that the president is in charge of foreign policy.

In fact . . .
@TXRandy14 . . . the power over foreign policy is shared with Congress⤵️ (From the Judicial Committee report)

But @TXRandy14 was clearly talking about the presidential power v. "career diplomats," which would be executive branch staff.

He was deliberate blurring separate issues.
@TXRandy14 We have members of Congress on the floor deliberately blurring and confusing issues.

They're trying to obscure the truth, not get to the truth.
@TXRandy14 The Republicans dance around this⤵️ but don't come out and say it.

After all, Zelensky still hasn't gotten his White House meeting— but Lavrov did.

Trump and Giuliani are trying to elevate Russian-backed Ukrainians.

Lev Parnas took money from Firtash.
