Benjamin Franklin used to gather up pro-independance propaganda from Europe and sent it to John Dunlap to republish.

Sermon to Asses was one of Franklin's favourites. However Dunlap thought BF had written it himself.
In 1768, The Boston Chronicle published a 4 page essay of Sermon to Asses. They also thought it had been written by Benjamin Franklin. However it was written by British radicals who supported the American revolution in Newcastle Upon Tyne.
Newcastle is only a few miles away from Washington, the ancestral home of George Washington, the first President of the United States.
