This #SundayMorning we're asking how Dems, independents & progressives can come together to defeat Trump & the GOP.

In my opinion, we can start by recognizing that every Dem candidate brings something positive & unique to the table.

Let's break it down by candidate.
(THREAD)
(2) First, we'll start with Joe Biden. There are a couple reasons Joe leads national polls, including the strong support he enjoys from the black community who see him as an Obama surrogate.

Biden also has the foreign policy chops to salvage America's reputation abroad.
(3) Bernie Sanders has a dedicated fan base who see him as the face of Medicare For All. He's one of the few candidates who still endorse M4A in its entirety.

Sanders also enjoys support from younger voters without degrees making under 50K a year, typically Trump's base.
(4) Elizabeth Warren captures Dem voter enthusiasm not just because she's a woman but also because she's become the progressive policy guru. Liberals with college degrees adore her

As a policy wonk, Warren does indeed have a "plan for that" & it's practical, detailed & inspiring
(5) Pete Buttigieg definitely appeals to heartland voters, who see this young veteran and small-town mayor as a breath of fresh air.

Pete's years at McKinsey and his background in economics should serve him well in navigating the looming recession.
(6) Mike Bloomberg is the candidate with the financial backing to outspend Trump. The former New York mayor also has plenty of executive experience.

Bloomberg's campaign earns points with voters for centering gun control policies and a commitment to support blue no matter who.
(7) Next, we have Amy Klobuchar, who also speaks to heartland voters and has demonstrated she has what it takes to win over red districts.

Her track record in the Senate should give Dem voters confidence about her steady leadership,
(8) No, I won't forget to give a nod to Andrew Yang and his signature issue, UBI, which is an idea whose time has come.

And while we may not completely agree about how to implement it, Yang has the background in business and innovation to get to work on solutions.
(9) Finally, we come to Tom Steyer, a billionaire vowing to get corporate money out of politics. He's also committed to advancing progressive policies to address climate change.

While he's currently being overshadowed by Bloomberg, Steyer can also bankroll a robust campaign.
(10) Yes, Gabbard & other candidates are still running, but they don't have a legitimate chance of winning the nomination.

If your preferred candidate doesn't make it out of Iowa, I hope you can find someone to support in this democratic field.

(11) Because no matter who wins the nomination, it's clear if we face Trump as a divided nation, we'll fall to the GOP's brand of corporate tyranny & fascism.

And any Democratic candidate represents a better future for our children than what the GOP has in store.
(12) Voting blue no matter who does NOT mean we avoid discussion of candidate policies, experience & character. That's what primaries are for. Vetting the field.

There's no room in this primary season, however, for petty personal attacks. Leave that to Trump and the GOP.
(END) Thanks for stopping for the #SundayMorning thread, suggestion courtesy of @Wavinator . Come back next week and we'll do it again.
