A short story [featuring you!] on the importance #SocialDistancingNow, why you must #StayHomeSaveLives, & why official ‘cases’ are a delayed version of the true numbers. (1/10)

[Day 0] You go to the video game store today & the person ahead of you coughs (mildly symptomatic #COVID19) & touches the pinpad on the credit card machine. You touch it too, maybe rub your nose later on the way to your car. Congratulations, you are now infected. (2/10)
[Day 1-4] The incubation period of #COVID19 is up to 14 days, average 5 days. No symptoms - means you go to work, then have coffee with your neighbour & babysit your niece. Everyone is healthy, so it’s fine, right? (3/10)
[Day 5-6] You start feeling a bit warm, mild dry cough. Not bad, maybe just under the weather. The next day your cough is worse, you have a fever, body aches, mild shortness of breath & diarrhea. (4/10)
[Day 7] You feel worse & call your family MD/Telehealth. They recommend you to go for #COVID19 testing, BUT if you're not in a vulnerable group, work in healthcare, or sick enough to be admitted to the hospital, you may not qualify for testing. Go home & self-isolate! (5/10)
[Day 8] Let’s say you do qualify - you are given an appointment at the #COVID assessment centre in 1-2 days. You’re coughing quite a bit as you walk in, someone hands you a mask. You get swabbed & go home. But first, you need groceries… nobody will know. (6/10)
[Day 9-15] You sit at home waiting. Public health is very busy & said it would take 4-5 days at least. Apparently your niece has a “cold”. She’s self-isolating at home with her immunocompromised mom. Other option would be her grandparents but they are even higher risk. (7/10)
[Day 16] Public health calls. They ask who you’ve been in contact with. Your swab was positive for #COVID19. >2 weeks after you were infected, you are finally counted as a case on the official regional website. Hm, no wonder there was only 29 cases 2 weeks ago… (8/10)
[Day 20] Your neighbour is in the hospital. They went to ER w/ chest pressure & shortness of breath, so hospital staff thought it was a heart problem & weren't wearing adequate #PPE. Your niece recovered too, but her mom is short of breath w/ a fever. (9/10)
[Day 25] Your neighbour is dead, your niece’s mom is in the ICU, the ER physicians/nurses who treated your neighbour are infected, 3 of your co-workers are infected, everyone is shaming you on social media. Sorry.
If only you had…STAYED HOME! (10/10)
