Huge variation among states and cities. Some were way ahead of the curve (OH/CA/WA) and others were late to act (NYC, NO, FL).
The fed response has been average. They have done a lot right, but had a few huge screwups.
- Travel restrictions in late Jan
- Pre-empted healthcare crisis. Hospitals being set up now and equipment being distributed before peak crisis, which will allow us to avoid a comparable situation to Italy.
- Imposed social distancing in a reasonable period.
1) Testing- FDA/CDA had major screwup in manufacturing testing and wasted 6 weeks until allow private labs to ramp up capacity.
2) Trump and other officials downplayed threat for 1-2 weeks in March.
Other complaints are mostly BS.
