4) Since January, Local, State & Federal Agencies have been monitoring the #Coronavirus as it spread across the world. We at #CEDR are on our 52nd day of activation without a day off to make sure the public had reliable info. Behind the scenes, .@fema & .@NationalGuard were too.

5) I'm going to share a glimpse on how these agencies prepare for emergencies like #COVID19. In November 2019 a mock multi-state disaster, in which the Guard members rehearsed an activation during an entire weekend. Below is a photo from that mock activation.

When #NY Gov Cuomo activated the #NewYork Guard, it was to help support a community that was quarantined from the #coronavirus. The NY Health Dept needed logistical support to pack and meals and other items for over 3,000 individuals and the NY Guard was there to help.

Today, Nat'l Guard Medical Task Force Teams, made up of medical professionals, were activated to support various state and local health departments, such as #BrowardCounty to ensure hospitals don't become stressed and they can free up nurses/Drs for ICUs.
