Sometimes anti-#Ukrainian #propaganda uses falsehoods – e.g. #fabricated documents or photos, through which it gives a completely new, #untrue context – or simply untruth.

This is the case here. In the post we read that the current Ukrainian authorities "#murdered the #people of #Donbass and #Luhansk due to their #ethnic origin."

Further on, it was added: "During that period, #defenseless #children and #women also #died in the areas of today's fighting, but at the hands of the #Ukrainian #army."

The narrative about #Ukrainian #crimes against the #people of #Donbass and #Luhansk, which preceded the #violation of the rights of local residents of #Ukraine, is an element of #Russian #propaganda, and #Putin presents himself as a #defender of the people of this region.

“Why did the #war in #Donbass break out?

The war in #eastern #Ukraine has been going on since 2014. As a result, #Donbas and #Lugansk became areas #occupied by #Russia.

so-called The #Donetsk #People's #Republic and the #Luhansk People's Republic were established after the so-called #referendum in 2014, organized during the #war in #Donbass.

The results of the #vote in which these #republics purportedly declared themselves #independent were not recognized by any #UN member country. #Russia itself #recognized the so-called #DRL and #LRL only on February 21, 2022.

The #separatist republics in the #Donbass were created as a result of the actions of #Russia, which - by inciting anti-#Ukrainian sentiments - sought to separate these regions from the rest of the #country.

In January 2015, experts from the #Center for #Eastern #Studies (#OSW) wrote about the resumption of #hostilities in #Donbass by #separatists supported by #Russian #units, which resulted in the #deaths of #civilians.

Wojna na wschodzie #Ukrainy trwa od 2014 roku. W jej wyniku #Donbas i #Ługańsk stały się obszarem #okupowanym przez #Rosję. Tzw. #Doniecka #Republika #Ludowa i #Ługańska Republika #Ludowa powstały po tzw.

#referendum w 2014 roku, zorganizowanym w czasie wojny w #Donbasie. Wyniki głosowania, w którym #republiki te rzekomo określiły się jako niepodległe, nie zostały uznane przez żaden kraj należący do #ONZ. Sama #Rosja uznała tzw. #DRL i #ŁRL dopiero 21 lutego 2022 roku.

#Separatystyczne #republiki w #Donbasie powstały wskutek działań #Rosji, która – poprzez wzniecanie #antyukraińskich nastrojów – dążyła do oderwania tych regionów od reszty kraju. Wydarzenia w 2014 roku były konsekwencją wieloletnich starań #Rosji,

mających na celu #destabilizację sytuacji w tym regionie poprzez m.in. zbieranie podpisów pod referendum czy wydawanie #paszportów #republik #separatystycznych.

lecz #separatyści wspierani przez #rosyjską #armię są odpowiedzialni za #śmierć #ludności cywilnej. W styczniu 2015 roku eksperci z #Ośrodka #Studiów #Wschodnich (#OSW) pisali o wznowieniu działań #wojennych w #Donbasie przez #separatystów wspieranych przez #rosyjskie jednostki,

w wyniku czego doszło do śmierci #ludności cywilnej. „(#Separatyści wspierani przez #rosyjskich #żołnierzy – przyp. Demagog) z rosnącą siłą #atakują również obiekty #cywilne.

24 stycznia w wyniku prowadzonego przez siły #separatystyczne ostrzału #rakietowego #Mariupola #śmierć poniosło 31 #mieszkańców, a ponad 100 zostało rannych”.

Analiza #Ośrodka #Studiów #Wschodnich, 28 stycznia 2015 roku Eksperci #OSW tłumaczyli wtedy, że: „Intensyfikując działania #zbrojne w #Donbasie, #Rosja chce wzmocnić presję na #Ukrainę,

aby skłonić #Kijów do wszczęcia rozmów z władzami samozwańczych #republik oraz zmusić Zachód do pogodzenia się z niewypełnianiem przez #Rosję #porozumień #mińskich i zaakceptowania #rosyjskich warunków uregulowania konfliktu”.
