For the record, before I forget - three personal experiences of Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook bots from last year.
1. I had dozens of purportedly Muslim men trying to befriend me on Facebook after a prolonged altercation with Islamophobes. I guessed they must be fake. But still.... disturbing.
2. I recall an argument with the not late lamented Godfrey Elphick about Jo Cox assassination. His mocking Tweets RT'ed over 100 times in less than a minute. Bot-tastic.
3. Finally, when Byline exposed Whittingdale's conflict of interest, bots boosted a Gilligan hit piece, and then an obscure right wing blog about me. Every single Linked in contact had that emailed to them as I was 'in the news'
4. Of course, Guido Fawkes was ready within minutes to write a piece about my paranoia when I mentioned this. But that's par for the course.
5. More perturbing was all the Tech experts who said this couldn't happen. Most Techbros have been singularly useless over the digital warfare around Brexit and Trump.
