Here's another Catch-22 for Trump: If Mueller asks Trump, "Did you perjure yourself in 2013 when you were asked under oath if you knew Felix Sater?" If he answers, "Yes", he admits to perjury. If he answers "No", he is perjuring himself once again.
WH MUTINY: The non-Trump portion of the WH has surrendered to the Mueller probe by leaking that Trump ordered Mueller be fired last summer. If Trump did not order this, then McGahn would have denied it, and he has not.

It is possible that Don McGahn decided independently, knowing that the outcome is inevitable, but it is much more likely that the collective around the president encouraged him to minimize the damage at this point and avoid a constitutional crisis. A lot should unfold shortly.
This may be the biggest leak in history. It was leaked to several major news outlets, including FoxNews, so there could be no mistaking or denying it. This is not "he said/she said". It's the "WH counsel said", or, at least, McGahn could not & did not deny it.

McGahn is complicit for sitting on this criminal behavior by Trump for 6 months. The storm did not blow over, so he is trying to minimize the collateral damage for everyone, especially himself. Is he a hero? Hardly. But he will be credited for expediting the inevitable.
Why is McGahn not a hero? He was involved with the firing of Sally Yates, James Comey, and Preet Bharara. So, he has been involved in obstruction from the start. He DID draw the line with Mueller, but THEN sat on the info for SIX months. It would have come out eventually.
