Why do supposed serious people entertain the notion that Biden could've beaten Trump in 2016 when the actual fundamentals of the race dispute that in every possible way?
OK, I get it -- not an icky girl, but really, that's all you're basically saying when you agree with this absurd Biden Triumphant premise.
2016 was more like 2000 than 1988 when the sitting VP won. Trump also wasn't Dukakis.
But really, *what specifically* in Biden's platform would be different from @HillaryClinton 's? Is there a non-sexist reason why you think leftists still wouldn't have wasted their votes on Jill Stein in key states?
My high school classmates' FB feed during 2012 was predominately and loudly anti-Biden. He wasn't that popular with right-leaning voters and his link to Obama didn't help. But for whatever reason, he's viewed as objectively more appealing to that group than HRC.

Cruz (and Rubio) lost the primary to @realDonaldTrump when the Trump didn't have the advantage of hyper partisanship. Cruz lost to Trump when either candidate would've given Republicans what they wanted (ACA repeal, conservative judges).
Because the GOP establishment mostly rallied behind @realDonaldTrump the election became @HillaryClinton vs Paul Ryan's domestic policy and Federalist Society-approved SCOTUS justices.
Ignoring that Trump didn't have all that in his favor (plus the fundamentals of the race and the precedent against a party winning the WH three times in a row, oh and Russia attacking our elections) is ... odd.

I remember an interview with Robert Downey Jr after he’d gotten out prison (yeah, the pre-Iron Man days). He was asked what the worst thing was that happened to him there. He said, “I’ll never tell you the worst thing that happened to me in prison.”
I don’t know that he meant rape but most guys would think that was what he meant. We would never want to admit to rape, to the her powerlessness and violation. Why do we think women are in a hurry to do this? Or that they enjoy broadcasting that they were a victim?
It’s brave that women come forward and there’s nothing to be ashamed of. But women don’t enjoy revealing this.

Isn't this also more an employment issue than a legal one? This came up with Franken, who I also thought should've resigned. "Due process" and "presumption of innocence" are important when talking about putting someone in jail. Here we're talking abt not putting someone on SCOTUS
Roy Moore and Al Franken weren't deprived of a natural right (their "freedom"). They lost Senate seats, which are obviously privileges that a rare number of people enjoy.
When a former teacher or coworker comments on your past performance, they aren't treated like witnesses at a trial. They don't testify under oath nor are their cross examined.
