There are two things wrong with this Liam Fox piece in the Telegraph on objections to the UK's WTO schedules, on which Parliament should (but probably won't on previous evidence) hold him to account - telegraph.co.uk/politics/2018/…
If "we always knew" agricultural quotas would be different, why was Parliament not told? In fact in July Parliament was told the opposite, that this was an EU problem not a UK problem.
This penultimate paragraph isn't right for a different reason. In the event of no-deal, the EU and UK would trade agricultural produce under quotas which aren't anywhere near large enough to cope with this trade. We have heard nothing about how this would be handled.
The bigger issue than Liam Fox is whether Parliament can actually hold the UK government to account after Brexit, or whether there will in fact be less democratic control. All the signs at the moment are of less control post-Brexit.
