Macron lost: he failed to convince his peers of the French strategy and faced isolation. And it was Merkel who delivered this message to him, leading from the middle.
If the (French-led) "European renaissance" Macron is talking about shall have a chance to succeed, the French president must become much better in building critical mass among European leaders, and by including interests of others. Big speeches and op-eds won't do it.

Great day for Ukraine: it has a genuine political choice. A great achievement for a country struggling for its emancipation from an autocratic and neo-imperialist Russia that has cut off a part of its territory and continues to wage war in another part. /1
And if you're not happy with the qualification of the candidates -- why should they be so much better than the personnel in established Western democracies? /2
Ukraine is on a long path of democratic nation-building, and what matters is that the process continues. That seems to be possible with both candidates. /3

This kind of conflicts over major foreign policy issues is indeed making it impossible for Europe to become a geopolitical actor. Hélas the issue won't be resolved by introducing majority voting in the EU over foreign affairs; France or Germany wouldn't accept to be outvoted.
The only hope for a more streamlined and more effective joint foreign and security policy therefore is a European Security Council where the key players get together and try to build a consensus.

I had gone to my Aunt’s place during the school holidays. Dà Chioma, my Aunt, would do you well when returning to school if you helped out at her bar.

Sometimes I was unofficial DJ, sometimes I served drinks.

I generally helped out, however I could.
Her Bar at Second Mosholashi attracted all sorts.

From the Rasta who could speak patois better than Jamaicans even though he had never left AJ. To the Old soldier never die, who fought for the queen in Burma.

Her bar brewed with stories and my ears drank to its fill

1. My Predictions For 2019:
- #Macron will find it more & more difficult to hold onto power.
- #Merkel won't last until 2021 & her power will further decrease this year quarter by quarter.
- I expect that the #Brexit-Exit-date will be moved (most likely by 12 months).

All different races of Mankind are derived from Manu and Shradha. The current Manu is Vaivasvata Manu.
2/ The word Manu literary means man but it is a title given to the progenitor of mankind. According to Hindu Puranas there are many kalpas (One day of Lord Brahma the creator) and each Kalpa has 14 manvantara and each manvatara has one manu. So basically each Kalpa has 14 Manus.
3/ The current manu of the present manvantara is Shraddhadeva or Vaivasvata Manu of this current Kalpa. He is the son of Vivasvat (Probably Surya) and is therefore also known as Manu-vaivasvata.
