Wow! 👉 This team found that 84% of patients w/ acute ischemic #stroke had bacterial DNA in their blood clots removed from the #brain ☝️oral #pathogen viridans streptococci (already connected to #endocarditis) was the most common organism identified in the #blood clots
Here is the paper itself which states 👉 “We found DNA of viridans streptococci in most aspired thrombi of patients with acute ischemic #stroke, which suggests that oral bacteria may have a role in the cause of #cerebrovascular disease.”
