Here’s my thread from January 2019 on the mystery state-owned corporation, which we now know from today’s documents is a bank. It could be Russia’s VEB (and not VTB or Alfa). VEB is implicated in Trump/Russia events:

Here’s the reporting on this investigation starting before Muekker appointment:
5/ VEB is implicated in Kislyak, Flynn & Kushner’s shady Russia secret back channel (Russian embassy to Kremlin, Dec 2016). Kushner met VEB chair Gorkov in Dec 2016. More on the shady timeline involving Qatar, Rosneft and Trump Tower visits in Dec. 2016:

6/ @WendySiegelman suggested in January that VEB could have been the source of illegal payoffs to Russian operatives who interfered in US election. There were suspicious payments in fall 2016:

On Trump's answers on meeting foreign officials with info, people are overstating the first half of Trump's answer (meetings have to be OK), and underemphasizing the second half ("Oppo research" is not OK, likely a "thing of value."). I wrote in 2017: 1/

It has to be legal for campaign officials to meet with foreign officials and discuss candidates. If a European official had seen Trump bank records and met with a Clinton staffer to raise questions, would that've been illegal?

3/ Many are trying to distinguish arranging the Trump Tower meeting - in itself - as illegal (or at least a duty to call FBI), while claiming that hiring Steele, a Brit, to talk to foreign sources was fine. It's hairsplitting.
Both arrangements generally must not be criminalized

Tuukka Rask is the reason the @NHLBruins got to Game 7. It’s not his fault the rest of the team couldn’t finish at the net, had chaotic ill-timed changes, and looked like a mess for half the game. Give Binnington and @StLouisBlues credit.

On Earth B, the 2016 election goes differently, my legal history tweets still get single digit likes, but my @celtics @RedSox @NHLBruins @Patriots takes and bad sports puns go what would’ve felt viral to me then: double-digit likes.

Here is a #thread for the May 14th court proceedings in the trial for #NXIVM leader Keith Raniere. These are my notes after reading through the transcripts provided by court.
Court begins with an immediate sidebar which is redacted from the transcripts. After a discussion the jury is brought in and the judge explains an alternate juror was sick and they would adjourn for the day. The attorneys still have some things to discuss, however.
A discussion starts by assistant U.S. Attorney Moira Penza. She says some materials have to do with things recovered during a search warrant at Nancy Salzman’s home at 3 Oregon Trail when Raniere was arrested.

Remember, the #USAF and #DTRA go out of their way to ensure the American public don't know what the Russians are looking at with their yearly observation flights (blocking #FOIA requests for the same data) so for god sake don't retweet this far and wide. 😏
The green dots show you where the plane was triangulated (MLAT) by ground stations, and the altitude is a tell for where they might be taking pictures, but to further refine your guess, check the speed with which they are flying.

They should be ~10,800 ft AGL doing ~300kn.

1 - SDNY provides Mueller with apolitical evidence sent from the target that predates all investigations.
2 - Proves Don Jr. met a Kremlin Agent

Natalia Veselnitskaya had been working on the Prevezon case for years, but in 2014 she involved herself drafting of the official response to the DoJ's invocation of a treaty for legal assistance.

She sent the evidence that she worked with the Kremlin to SDNY prosecutors.
