THREAD: In 2018, NYers showed up and voted for Democrats to take control of the @NYSenate for the first time in a decade.

@AndreaSCousins became the first woman to lead a legislative chamber and the first black woman to lead the Senate.

This is a long thread, and it only scratches the surface.

My colleagues and I have proven what can be accomplished by working together, and with the people of New York.

And we've shown the country what Democrats can do when they stand united—setting an example for the nation.
Big money used to rule Albany. Now, people power has taken its place.

We have so much more to do. Keep pushing me and your other elected officials to live up to our promises. Because all of this wouldn't be possible without you, and your activism.
