As someone with family in Israel, the extremist right wing positions of Netanyahu have damaged Israel in many of the same ways Trump has here and like Trump, Netanyahu is corrupt and self-dealing.

Knesset down 53 (!!!) seats for the extremist right, meaning if Netanyahu does squeak through, he will face a strong Blue and White phalanx in Knesset as well as more Arab seats, effectively weakening his coalition massively.

It's unclear rn who will gain the 61 seat Knesset majority. But it would highly benefit the country if Gantz's Blue and White's were given the go-ahead to form a governing coalition by Rivlin. Kahol Lavan is ahead. Likud is behind. And the Joint List of Arab parties will be 3rd.
For those unfamiliar with party differences, Gantz's Blue&White is for reforms like amending the nation-state law to include Israeli minorities, limiting power of Chief Rabbinate of Israel over marriages & re-entering negotiations with Palestinian Authority for a peace agreement.
