I just wrote a long thread 📌about the cost of being #disabled ♿ and/or chronically ill🏥 in America & my hand went spastic & deleted it & honestly that is the perfect coda.

I so desperately want to be able to get out of my house to go somewhere other than the hospital.

I have needed a wheelchair lift and an automatic wheelchair since I was paralyzed. Despite the exorbitant premiums charged by my health insurance company, which is one of the largest in the country so I know they can afford it, they don't provide such things.

It is frankly driving me mad to be trapped inside all the time with the same view and never to be able to have a break from that. The nurse practitioner comes to the house, as does the nurse navigator. I am fighting to get the physical therapist back. It's just so arduous.

Anyway. I just needed to say this. I am sorry for everyone in this same or similar circumstance. It's crushing. This country should take better care of its #disabled and chronically ill citizens. But instead the Trump administration wants to run in 2020 on cutting healthcare.

#Disabled Americans are the largest single minority, the poorest and face relentless discrimination but only one Democrat has a plan for disability (@KamalaHarris). Imagine that no one else thinks 1 in 4 Americans matter?

#Disabled people deserve better and more and to have equal access to our own society. That we mostly do not is just f***ing Dickensian.
Fix it.
Fix it for me and the millions of other disabled people in this same battle.

Imagine being able to count how many times you had left your house this year and that the only place you had gone was the hospital?

Please don't tell #disabled/ill folks that if they just moved to some foreign country they'd have UHC. Why would anyone leave their country, family, etc AND how could they afford it AND could they even get citizenship? It isn't helpful to tell someone starving you have food. 8/
