Funnily enough, this is exactly the CPC plan.

The whole point of aligning the required elements to commission a constitutional convention is to remove the human rights in the Charter of Rights & Freedoms, install private property rights and bolster religious freedom.
Review conservative complaints since the Charter’s creation and ratification. What once was the executive branch’s sole discretion to create or ignore human rights, is now shared with the judicial branch. And has resulted in the expansion of human rights.
The existence of the Charter rights in Canada has resulted in limiting hate speech, revealed conflicts between religious freedom and human rights, and the expanded women’s rights, LGBTQ rights and POC rights. Exactly what every progressive has longed for. Progress.
The Charter represents to conservatives a loss of power and authority of religious institutions and leadership, a weakening of white male privilege, limits on speech and actions, and contraction of corporate ability to profit from private property (natural resources).
Without the protection of Charter rights & freedoms, faith institutions can openly discriminate, white males can retain their privilege, hate speech can be expanded and natural resources can be developed and produced without worrying about health & safety or the environment.
Removing human rights is the end goal of a long plan developed, not only in Canada, but globally, by those most affected by the expansion of human rights.

Human rights limit the power of the powerful to create wealth and maintain control of the economy and policy.
Every effort by Canadian Cons has been in pursuit of this goal for the past 40 years in Canada, and for the in US & UK, most of Europe: i.e. western democracies.
A review of CPC policy during Harper years reveals an insidious & incremental removal of human rights protections as well as conditioning (aka indoctrination) to accept secrecy, authoritarianism & fewer freedoms in exchange for lower taxes and “prosperity”. Money in your pocket.
Similar policy reviews of Canadian provincial Conservative policy reveals a similar trend. Especially in Alberta, Saskatchewan & Ontario where conservative governments had or have a firm grasp on governance.
Ford & Kenney provincial governments have clearly attacked human rights in their jurisdictions. They will continue to do so, regardless of who wins the federal election. But if Scheer and CPC win, the attack will accelerate exponentially.
The attack on human rights will increase in other con led provinces. A CPC federal government will commission a constitutional convention the moment the Senate is loaded with a majority of conservative whipped senators.
Assured is the review of the Charter rights to remove human rights as well as expand religious freedom and corporate property rights.

Scheer isn’t lying about not touching abortion rights. If he wins the election, he won’t have to specifically target abortion.
Scheer, or any CPC leader that replaces him, would remove all human rights in one fell swoop. Why bother with incremental changes, when it can all be accomplished with one act of malevolence. Over 100 years of human rights legislation wiped out in one brutal act.
This is why PR is a non issue, a distraction fomented by cons posing as progressives. To distract from their real motive.

The best way to distract progressives is to get them to fight amongst themselves. Is that not where Canadian politics is today?
Take a look for yourself and review key policy implementation by Harper. It’s publicly available information.

This should be headline news. But complicit media, led by those most in line to benefit from this plan, have abandoned their post. Turning a blind eye to con goals.
I truly fear what will become of Canada. So many are willingly allowing themselves to be led down the garden path. Desperately entrenched in defending PR, when it’s our collective human rights that are at risk. We all know what’s at the end of that path. But PR, but the pipeline.
I’m no longer fighting the battle. I’m just documenting what is happening. Not to say I told you so. As a record of the demagoguery that got us here.

Hopefully, when we are all without rights, we learn to see the forest for the trees, regroup, and put our differences aside.
It will be the only thing that saves us from annihilation. Unity, interdependency, cooperation and compromise. The foundations of democracy so many conveniently ignore to vent sanctimoniously about PR & pipelines.
