FIRST: Sondland insists there was a quid pro quo involving a Trump-Zelensky meeting, in exchange for a public commitment to investigate Crowdstrike and Burisma

Trump believed - according to Sondland - that Ukraine was corrupt BECAUSE they intervened in the 2016 election.

Thus, Trump's MOTIVATION in pursuing the Burisma/Crowdstrike investigations was legitimate.

The legislative branch cannot legislate; that's it's raison d'être

Instead, House Democrats are encroaching on executive and judiciary powers by launching investigations under the pretext of "oversight"

So far, the @SenateGOP has been AWOL

Republicans cannot unilaterally disarm, nor can they count on the Judiciary to step in

They, too, must wield their oversight powers aggressively

1. It is highly likely Zelensky mentioned Rudy Giuliani as many times as he did because he was hopeful the former Mayor would be a part of building confidence from POTUS that the new administration was sincere about its election pledges to address corruption /2
2. The reason the public statement regarding corruption that included Burisma & the 2016 election was dropped was because Leshchenko was still in the Prosecutor General position. Not because of undue pressure. /3
