All year, media has framed Pete Buttigieg as the smart "wonderboy," while reports on Kamala Harris took the same "qualified but flawed" framing that dogged Hillary Clinton in 2016. Somehow, though, even critical stories on Pete manage to get "whiz kid" into the headline.
I literally wrote this tweet 3 hours ago about the "wonder boy" framing, and just saw this NYT headline 5~ mins ago. Way too on the nose.
And I'm not trying to pick on this one story's headline. It wouldn't be remarkable if there weren't such a longstanding pattern that I pretty much tweeted a prophecy of its existence three hours before I saw it.

Media needs to examine the way we automatically frame men v women.
