Before POTUS ruled against Nixon, he looked safe. After the tapes were ordered released Nixon was gone just over two weeks.
2. Compared to what Trump is hiding, Nixon's tapes were nothing. Trump is a mobster and IMO has taken money for official acts. His taxes and finances will bring him down in days. And on Friday, or Monday at the latest, #SCOTUS may rule that the @ManhattanDA can indict him.
3. What would Trump do if he was indicted in NY? We may see soon so you might want to go to Costco to stock up on bottled water and Spam. 😎

1. Why the @HouseDemocrats voting to save @POTUS Trump may be making a career ending decision.

First, they are predicting how the electorate will view Trump in 11 months. Betting that more terrible facts don't emerge by then is bad bet.
2. Second, we saw in the 2018 midterms and subsequent other elections, Trump's base is holding but the key independents are running from him. Again, these Democrats are betting that will reverse and there is nothing to suggest that Trump will begin to act like a normal president,
3. conduct necessary to attract independents.

Third, and related to the above, it's a near certainty Trump has been taking money from Russia and ISIS affiliate's in Turkey. He has been successful in blocking the House access to the proof but unless the @Scotus throws away

1. More thoughts on Friday's #SCOTUS conference.

In 1974, I distinctly recall believing that #SCOTUS Conservatives would stand with their party and allow Nixon to snub his nose at the grand jury subpoena. What they did changed our lives and strengthened our Democracy.
2. About seven years after the Nixon case, as a hotel manager escorting Chief Justice Berger and his wife, the Chief Justice handed me a copy of the US Constitution. I still have it. Criticism of Berger for some of his opinions is warranted,
3. but not for what he wrote on July 24, 1974. He and the other seven saved America 8-0. The conference is Friday the orders list generally comes out on Monday. @uscourts
