Now that the Trump campaign has the green light to lie in Facebook ads, here is what is happening.

Just a string of unhinged falsehoods.

In exchange for cash, Facebook is infecting its users with misinformation.
Here is another Facebook ad that Trump is running today that falsely claims there is some sort of effort to prevent him from running an ad during the Super Bowl. (There isn't and the campaign has already bought the time.)
This is not trivial. Trump is currently paying Facebook nearly $700,000 PER WEEK to spread these kind of lies. And that number will only increase as the election draws nearer.

1. If you like Biden and his policy positions you should vote for him.

But the idea that voting for him is a "safe" choice does not withstand scrutiny.
2. This is Biden's third run for president:

1988: Dropped out after plagiarism allegations

2008: Finished 5th in Iowa dropped out

2020: With universal name recognition after 8 years as VP, finishes 4th in Iowa
3. There is a RISK of Biden not being good at running for president.

Biden underperformed his polling in Iowa by 5%.

Will Biden supporters show up? Can he excite Democrats?

Because Trump supporters will show up.

Advertisers want to avoid controversy.

Increasingly that means they refuse to advertise against real news.

Advertisers are blocking stories with words like "pregnant" and "gay"

Because those kind of publications don't have to worry about creating a "safe" environment for ad dollars

1. Judicial Watch continues to push maliciously false information about Iowa voter registration.

Even if you include inactive voters (which makes little sense) his report is still wrong.

2. Voters become inactive when the Secretary of State believes they have MOVED. So these folks aren't going to show up in population surveys.

If they do show up to vote, they are essentially treated the same as unregistered voters.

Even if there were, it would not mean anything.

The registration data is from this year and the most recent population data is from 2 years ago

Here's the #Facebook "scandal" in a nutshell:
(1/10) In 2004 Mark #Zuckerberg creates essentially the biggest single advertising platform of all time.
(2/10) Facebook's genius is that instead of advertising that's coupled with original content (TV, radio, print, other websites) the "original content" of FB is the audience itself, as they "connect" with each other.
(3/10) Like any & every business, ever, at some point FB needs to find a way to get people to voluntarily give them lots of money. Who though? Well, companies/entities that want to influence groups of people to do things (duh).
