BREAKING: Republicans in the Senate have just released a bill to make discriminatory junk insurance plans permanent called ICHCCA (ich-hah). 1/
ICHCCA junk plans (Improving Choices in Health Care Coverage Act) aims to take a lousy idea and make it even worse.

Plans designed to be 90 days
Trump would allow for a year

One thing I know is that the words “short term” and “permanent” are pretty close to opposites.

It shows the lengths GOP Congress are willing to go to sew health care chaos and discriminate against those with pre-ex conditions. 4/

Hard to know whether domestic or foreign policy is in bigger need of re-direction . . .

but turning on poor people to line the pockets of corporations & investors is still on the top of my list.
There are dozens and dozens of seemingly small examples like this one— from cutting people off of food stamps & Medicaid to scaring legal immigrants not to use their benefits to not allowing newly diagnosed cancer patients from qualifying for Medicaid.

This is the worst stock market week since 2008.
This is the worst stock market month since 1931.
Most Americans have lost 10% of their savings or more.

Markets hate chaos, corruption, and heading in the wrong direction. In other words, Trump.
Several have very critically & accurately pointed out that not everyone owns stock.

For those that don’t, Trump’s tax plan was even worse.

Recall Trump would tweet every time the market rose so this says something. More importantly, my boss #44 knew this wasn’t what mattered.
And anyone who wants to criticize me for coming from the private sector, you are welcome to. I was a public figure & that comes with the territory.

I left the private sector to help turnaround the ACA after it launched & then served 2 amazing years in Obama’s Administration.

There’s so much crazy news today that a major health care policy change & some results released today won’t get noticed.

Bottom line: changing how we pay for care in Medicare is reducing costs and improving quality & will happen more rapidly.

If you want a few more details...
Medicare changed how it paid care to reward quality & improve efficiency in a pilot. 44 groups of physicians & hospitals saved the government $167 million in one year. 👇Which means they saved a multiple of that.
