1/ We're halfway into one of the most scandal-plagued presidencies ever. But on Fox News, Hillary Clinton is still the villain.

The network can’t stop talking about her — even though nearly two years have passed since the 2016 election.
2/ Since Trump’s inauguration, Fox News has spent far more time covering Clinton than any other cable news channel. It’s not even close:
3/ Whether they’re discussing the Supreme Court, Russian election meddling, immigration, or pretty much any other story, Fox News pundits somehow find a way to paint Hillary Clinton as the bad guy.

The network has shown Clinton’s face more than 2,000 times in recent months.
4/ After every presidential election, the losing candidate, for a time, becomes the face of the losing party.

But coverage of Clinton far surpasses time spent talking about Mitt Romney after the 2012 election or John McCain after the 2008 election — on any network.
5/ When Fox News reports on Robert Mueller’s investigation into possible Trump campaign ties to Russia, they make sure to bring Clinton into the story.
6/ Clinton’s private email server was one of the most-covered stories of the 2016 campaign. It got more collective airtime than all policy stories combined on network news shows.

Here’s how Fox’s coverage stacked up against the New York Times:
7/ Fox News’s Hillary obsession isn’t new. The media has spent 30 years creating the character of “Hillary Clinton.”

But it has proved to be an effective tool for Fox News to spread its pro-Trump messages.
8/ “Fox News has devoted itself to painting Trump as a protagonist, which can be hard given the scandals, the incompetence, and the cruelty. But with the perfectly crafted villain, anyone can be made a hero,” writes Vox’s @alv9n: bit.ly/2Jfd4MN
9/ And while Fox has been devoting its airtime to Clinton, it’s also been:
– Ignoring Stormy Daniels: bit.ly/2L8ONtj
– Downplaying Trump’s family separation policy: bit.ly/2KT5bSU
– And creating an alternate reality for its viewers: bit.ly/2L8deat
