The final vote on the EU #CopyrightDirective is happening THIS WEEK!

Dozens of MEPs are undecided on how to vote on the EU's disastrous #CopyrightDirective. Here's how to call them now, and how to tell them to delete #Article11 and #Article13! saveyourinternet.eu

This is the most controversial Directive in EU history. The petition against Directive's #Article13 is the largest in history, with over 5 million signatures, and protestors have taken to streets this weekend to ensure that MEP's know what's at stake! saveyourinternet.info/demos

#Article13 would require "copyright filters" that would check every tweet, Facebook update, shared photo, and uploaded video to see if they were similar to items in a database of known copyrighted works, and block it if they found anything too similar eff.org/deeplinks/2019…

#Article13 would fundamentally reshape the European Internet, and everyone is against it: artists, small businesses, big businesses, the Internet's creators, and over 5 million people who signed the petition to stop the censorship machine it would create. eff.org/deeplinks/2018…

Another proposal, #Article11, will create a tax on linking to other sites if you include a "snippet" from the article. This means if anyone uses too many words when linking to the news, they could trigger Article 11’s licensing requirements. eff.org/deeplinks/2019…

These Articles are a disaster for free expression online. Copyright reform is badly needed, but these proposals have undermined any positive results in the Directive.
