What I read on human rights in China deeply troubles me. Yet I don't think the US Administration has even implied human rights violations are a cause of its tariffs, or that improving them would see those tariffs removed.

They therefore can't be offered as justification. 🤷🏼‍♂️
I can definitely see why many commentators consider confronting China to be an imperative.

However, that does not mean one simply gets to transpose their personal agendas (however worthy) onto the Trump administration.

Trump told you what he cares about, and it's not Uighurs.
"But Dmitry, China is being confronted that's what matters here."

No it isn't.

Confrontation in and of itself doesn't achieve anything on the things you care about, unless it encourages a change in Chinese behavior. Here. on most issues, a change isn't even being asked for.
