This isn’t going to get much attention today but worth noting. #Lab19 is still just about ongoing and they’ve just unanimously passed a motion which pledges to maintain Freedom of Movement as part of any Brexit deal.
So...does this mean Freedom of Movement will be part of Labour’s Brexit deal which they’ll put against remain? Which will also include a customs union and single market alignment. So Norway+ essentially. That could be...politically tricky.
Labour source confirms that Freedom of Movement is now Lab policy as conf is “sovereign body”. When I asked if it will therefore be included in any Labour Brexit deal put to the people (vs remain) source said that’s up to the EU but “some form of it” could well be.

#GetBrexitDone is one of the most misleading slogans we’ve seen. Best case scenario, we pass a deal, another cliffedge in a year or two. No deal=years of fall out, both internally and domestically, with a decade of negotiations or more.
Leave, Remain, deal, no deal, it’s all matters of degree. Brexit isn’t getting done, or being left alone for a long, long time.

("Ex parte" is Latin for "from." An ex parte communication is one coming from only one party, not providing any notice to the other party. Basically the opposite of a letter copied to opposing counsel, filed publicly, and served via the electronic filing system.)
It is quite literally impossible to overstate how fantastically dumb Ty Beard's "ex parte" characterization is

The motion is weak and the basis is LOLable, but my suspicion is that the judge will grant it (though likely for less than 3 weeks)

Defendants will argue the burden is on Plaintiff to show good cause (the motion doesn't do that), plus ongoing harassment

Positive for the Defendants. He gives their attorneys lots of usable material

A good rule of thumb as y'all see an assortment of "bUt ThEy LiEd UnDeR oAtH" tweets from conVics is that they're typically projecting – accusing others of the things they themselves or R.Broly have done

A little thread on what is known as "the Norway Option" (i.e. leaving the EU but remaining a signatory to the European Economic Area Agreement - "the EEA"). In order to understand the EEA you have to understand (a) how it came about (b) how it works and (c) how its law is made.
Once you understand these three key points, you are in a position to compare its positives and negatives to leaving the EU with no deal, under May's deal or remaining. I will seek to add to the conversation on those three points from my 20+ year experience of working in politics

#FDR promoted the idea that the people of the world, in all nations, shared entitlement to four freedoms: that of the freedom of speech and expression, the freedom of worship, the freedom from want and the freedom from fear.
#FDR is arguably one of the most 'successful' #US Presidents. Some would argue that on the basis of his numerous social policies such as 'the New Deal'. Others, however, would argue that his role during the second world war was more prevalent to his success & everlasting legacy.
