You know, it's strange. All along, I've never thought we'd No Deal. It's got perilously close at times - but I've never thought we ever could. How could we willingly - voluntarily! - do that to ourselves? But the key there is 'willingly'.
Tonight, Britain stands on the verge of what its execrable, lying media will tell its quiescent public is an end of a 3-year-long nightmare. Broad, sunlit uplands dead ahead. Its public has no idea AT ALL of what's around the corner.
The deal is passed, everyone celebrates, Johnson goes to the country, all hell breaks loose on the left, as it tears itself apart for the umpteenth time, and divide and conquer works yet again. Divide and conquer is why the rich and powerful always remain rich and powerful.
Johnson wins a landslide - or at least a majority. 1 year into the trade talks, he walks away; and suddenly, we're on WTO terms. No Deal in plain sight: very likely, without most of the public having a clue about it, the media cheerleading their boy Boris as he stuffs the country
That, you see, is the whole purpose of modern day leaders in modern day Britain. Stuff the country. Fuck it up. Make millions, even tens of millions, suffer for the rest of their days... so a few individuals at the top can fill their pockets even further.
And if they vote for the deal, that is what Labour MPs will be enabling. Enabling an election in which the odds could not be more stacked against Labour - and an aftermath which destroys Britain completely, and makes austerity look like a picnic.
In a purely Macchiavellian sense, you have to hand it to Johnson. He's taken a set of miserably discouraging circumstances and by pure sleight of hand, confidence trickster and conman that he is, has his party and the public purring in delight. The devilry of it is disgusting.
But there are Labour MPs, numbering more than single fingers (a total rising by the hour) who are walking idly into his trap without a care in the world. Labour MPs who very obviously, haven't even bothered to read the deal. Too much like hard work, you see.
BUT WE PROMISED OUR CONSTITUENTS!

Oh get real you shower of idiots. You 'promised your constituents' you'd usher in a Tory landslide and make them 10% poorer overnight? You 'promised your constituents' you'd do more to increase poverty and deprivation than anything Thatcher did?
The ERG are grinning from ear to ear because they know what's planned here. And they also know that if Johnson wins a majority, nothing can be done to stop it. NOTHING. Their wet dream, their ultimate fantasy, is within reach: aided and abetted by the media and Labour MPs.
There's another reason divide and rule has worked down the decades. The left aren't just a pathetic bunch of wimps. They're also, all too frequently, way too nice for their own good; meaning, they're stupid. Thunderously stupid. Mindbogglingly stupid. Some of them, anyway.
As Gordon Brown departed the stage in 2010, do you think, even for a single moment, he could've dreamt what the Tories would do to Britain? Course he didn't. He thought most of his legacy was safe.
Does anyone on here think for a single moment that Labour would've made up a bunch of bullshit about Britain "running out of money" had it been politically expedient? No chance. The Tories? Manna from heaven where they were concerned; no chickenshit hesitation from them.
So poor Liam Byrne had a playful, comradely note used against him for 5 years and counting... people died because of that note. Or rather, because of how the Tories and Lib Dems exploited it to their eternal shame.
And then we have the constant entreaties to "respect our political opponents. They're patriots, they want the same as us! They just have different views on how to achieve it".

Newsflash: they don't. They want what's best for THEM, and the hell with everyone else. Literally.
Like Nye Bevan, Laura Pidcock actually gets this. She knows what the Tories have done and are still doing to communities up and down the UK. Almost no-one in the Westminster media village gives a damn about any of that. 130,000 people dead? Who cares? Only gossip matters.
So what they do instead is turn, get this, on her for the crime of NOT treating politics as a game. For the crime of realising how much it matters. For the crime of caring about people, wanting to help them and not wanting them to die horrible, lonely, miserable deaths.
Not all Tory voters are bad people. The Conservative Party, on the other hand, is full to the brim of venal beyond belief bastards who simply do not give a shit about anything other than themselves. They'll even break the law in order to get it.
But even what they have planned now - which is grim, ghastly and horrific even by their non-existent standards - wouldn't be possible if Labour MPs - LABOUR MPs! - weren't about to troop through the lobbies as their accomplices to a gigantic con against the people of Britain.
What must Labour do? It must, as it is doing, support Letwin's amendment. It must get through to these blockheads and numbskulls just what they're about to enable. And it must hope and pray that these people still have consciences.
I thought referendum night itself was the most calamitous day I'd ever known in British politics and modern British history. Well - that's as nothing compared to this deal being passed and Johnson winning the election. Nothing at all.

It must - repeat MUST - be stopped.
