Things which made huge positive changes to my trading:

1. Removing daily profit targets:

Having a daily target puts unnecessary pressure on performance.

The goal of a trader is to execute their plan in best possible way.

Having daily profit targets put pressure on mind and a trader will not be able to focus on their plan

2. Setup hopping:

Instead of trying different tools and setups, I focused on one or two. It opened up insights about those tools which were missing before.

3. Journaling:

Maintaining records of our trades gives us deeper insights into us as traders, behavioral patterns.

More importantly, it helps us identify what is working and what is not working.

Swing trading in cash is one the best trading for working class people.

Bitter Psychology of Tops

Believe it or not, at the market top all news will be good. Economic stories in newspapers and television would tell you that economy is recovering and growing at a faster pace. Industrial numbers would be improving.

Some poor figures like high inflation would not affect the market. In all this hullaballoo, you have been observing a stock that you missed buying near its bottom.

You have spared money to buy this stock at a fair price.
The stock drifts to its all-time highs but you are looking for a better bargain and setup.

The stock forms a breakout pattern on the charts and at the same time, good news about some big order or reward to the company is shared over the media.

1) Retest

Whenever a stock trails back to the resistance after a breakout and bounces off treating it as a support towards the target then it is known as retest. retest might not happen all the time but when it does moves are strong. A full thread on retest is pinned on my feed. ImageImage
2) Volumes

A spike in volumes on a Breakout in your direction of trade is considered one of the best things for your trade. But if volumes are below average volumes, then you need to be careful as very few Breakout trades succeed with volumes lower than average volumes Image

Important risk management points and how to use them:

A 🧵

Risk management is the core of trading. No matter how good of a setup we have; if we do not manage risk, properly, trader will not be profitable in the long run.

As a discretionary trader, I follow certain rules for managing risk

Day limit: I have a limit of 1.5% risk on my account per day. It is per day; not per trade.

I usually take 2-3 trades in a day and use this limit across trades.

3. Bar
4. Area
5. High Low
6. Heiken Ashi
7. Renko
8. Point & Figure

Let's start with top 5 basic charting.

@KommawarSwapnil @price_trader_
1. Line Chart:

Line chart tracks the closing prices of the stock over a specific period. While it is considered to be quite simplistic (compared to other chart types), a line chart helps traders to spot trends in the price movement.

1/ There's no denying that we're in a mess!

By the Law of Unintended Consequences, every time we try to fix A, we create problems B, C, D, E, etc.

We hardly understand these new problems unless there's hindsight to connect the dots...

So, how the hell did we get here?

Let's start by looking at the peak of the #British Empire:

It was the world's largest realm. But as with every empire, trying to control so many people across the globe has its price & #debt weakened its structure...

▣ Maintaining enough emergency fund

Risk can be minimized but cannot be eliminated. Hence, an emergency fund has become a necessity to reduce undesirable financial situations.

Therefore, it is advised to have at least 5-6 months' expenses as your emergency fund.
▣ Life Insurance

Having term insurance is just lyk planting a tree that gives shade to your family. There is only death benefit but no maturity benefit in this.

As soon as u start ur first job u should have term insurance & the cover should be 20 times ur yearly expenses

I dare to say that #Nifty50 and #BankNifty have seeen their temporary bottoms (end of Wave 4) and will kick off Wave 5 from tomorrow (28.09.22).

Trade set-up:
Initiate long

Current/Targets (minimum)/SL/RRR:
Nifty: 17007/18035/16710/1:3
BankNifty: 38359/41436/37250/1:3 ImageImage

This is what we are looking at:
Wave 4 -> Subwave C -> Subwave 5 -> Subwave 5

End of corrective 4th wave (bearish) is very very near. Anything near and below 16825 is strong buy, with a SL of 16700. Image
So #Nifty50 did touch 16820 just before close. Most probably we will not see this level again for a very long time from now.

Don't worry in case you have missed to initiate the long position today. You can initiate the same around 17000 tomorrow for a target of 18000.

Understanding & analysing Cash Flow Statements

Why is it important? 🤔

A detailed thread🧵⤵️

This statement shows the inflow & outflow of cash & cash equivalents of the company over a specific period of time.

It indicates the company’s performance & overall health. However, cashflows only show the company’s liquidity but show nothing abt the profitability.
To understand the cashflow statements we need to understand the 3 components of it:

→ Operating Activities
→ Investing Activities
→ Financing Activities

How to find high probability intraday reversal trades?

One of the challenges a day trader faces is to identify whether the chances of trend continuation in direction of open is higher

or if

market will reverse and change trend on intraday basis.

I look at two things to understand if there is a higher chance of trend continuation or if trend reverses.

Orderflow helps a trader understand whether big players are buying or selling at a particular level.

6 habits of a successful trader in the #stockmarkets

successful people do not attain success by a stroke of luck alone. They have consciously imbibed some good habits which has made them successful. The same logic applies to a trader too..

in Association with @KommawarSwapnil Image
1. Discipline is key to successful traders

yes, this is the golden rule of successful trading. You need to observe strict rules and discipline with respect to stop losses, profit booking targets, protecting your capital.
In long run, it is the disciplined trader who wins and not the person who is incredibly intelligent or lucky. Discipline helps you preserve capital and that is at the core of being a successful trader. If you take care of your capital then your Capital will take care of profits.

1. Hammer

The hammer candlestick pattern is formed of a short body with a long lower wick, and is found at the bottom of a downward trend.

A hammer shows that although there were selling pressures during the day, ultimately a strong buying pressure drove the price back up.
2. Shooting Star

The shooting star is the same shape as the inverted hammer, but is formed in an uptrend: it has a small lower body, and a long upper wick.
