my position remains one of total despair & alienation from a saga whereby antisemitism is discussed unseriously, as a proxy war & a cover, reproducing how the State of Israel employs the concept. I am so resentful now of so many parties & many other jews for perpetuating this.
like I've continually said, from the start, this could never be a serious discussion about racism because it is being channelled through the framing of the Labour Party's internal power struggle and has just become seen through that lens.
and it has been conducted and driven so irresponsibly by a media culture that reflects the definitions of racism and antisemitism that are wholly wrong.
this has subjected us to the ugly spectacle of liberals & rightwingers cynically latching onto this miserable farce w gross philosemitism that objectifies the figure of the jew, freezes the holocaust as a detached ahistorical event & cares little about other racism, like y'know
Israeli settler colonialism. Or ppl making hamfisted comparison about how "this kind of thing would never be accepted if it was said about..." while erasing or downplaying that other racialised groups face so much more material oppression in British society.
Meanwhile *parts* of the Corbyn left are either actually antisemitic or are just so politically thick that they continually walk into every trap by conflating Israel with Jewishness, are run through with conspiracy theory and betraying their British nationalism by
minimising the historical imperial role of the British state they want to take and affirming its potential goodness if only foreign interferers (the Israel lobby) would stop trying to infiltrate it.
Anyway I'm done, can't be arsed any more, too much bullshit, bad faith, shadow boxing and left failures of solidarity and antiracism principles. Am only comforted by the excellent takes of many comrades, including Corbyn supporters and some other jewish radicals.
