You are literally using 9/11 for a political attack right now.
I live in New York City. I could smell the smoke from the towers in my living room on September 11th. The problem with Trump's tweet wasn't that it showed insufficient "reverence" to 9/11. It was that he incited Islamophobic violence against a political opponent.
If you're going to defend Ilhan Omar, defend her. Say her name. Say what the president did to her. Say why what he did was wrong. #IStandWithIlhan
If you’re too scared of political blowback to forthrightly defend a colleague against this kind of viciousness, just keep your mouth shut.
