I directly met with and participated in interviews with approximately 30 children (including infants and sibling groups) at the Clint Border Patrol facility over the course of four days last month. 2/x #lights4liberty #dontlookaway

Our entire team met with a total of approximately 60 children. A related team met with and interviewed dozens of additional children being neglected and abused in the Rio Grande sector the week prior. 3/x #lights4liberty #dontlookaway

Five children were so sick in that team's assessment (each team included a pediatrician) that they were immediately sent to the hospital (keep in mind that six children have died in or right after they were kept in Border Patrol custody). 4/x #lights4liberty #dontlookaway

This is a HUGE child abuse and neglect issue, not just an immigration issue. Literally, their treatment is so bad, that children are dying. People keep asking me what to do. Only collectively will we find the answers as to how to end this systematic brutality of children. 5/x

I am encouraging everyone participating in these events to quote directly from the children's sworn declarations in order to amplify these children's voices. Their voices speak truth and should not be silenced. 7/x #lights4liberty #dontlookaway
