The photos taken from the Lebanese side that are circulating appear to be taken from between Yaroun and Aitaroun on a road that leads back to Bint Jbeil, which will bring back memories of the 2006 conflict as well

Aug 31- Nasrallah warns retaliation inevitable
Aug 31-Sept 1 Israel media shows armored vehicles, artillery near northern border
Sept. 1- high alert on border, fires reported near border.
Israel says a “number of anti- tank missiles were fired from Lebanon towards an IDF base and military vehicles. A number of hits have been confirmed. IDF is responding with fire towards the sources of fire and targets in southern Lebanon.”
Hezbollah has a huge arsenal of missiles, Israel will want to deter Hezbollah and its allies in Iran but the question is whether a massive escalation can be avoided after the very serious incident today

Thread: In years covering Israel's airstrikes in Syria, most of which were "alleged" until Israel began admitting them in August 2017, this is the first time I remember Israel's IDF releasing details so quickly.
The IDF says: "IDF Thwarts Iranian Quds Force and Shiite Militias' Attack Targeting Israel. IDF fighter jets recently targeted a number of terror targets in Aqraba, Syria, southeast of Damascus."
"The strike targeted Iranian Quds Force operatives and Shiite militias which were preparing to advance attack plans targeting sites in Israel from within Syria over the last number of days.
The thwarted attack included plans to launch a number of armed drones." -IDF

Now #BREAKING news Gulf of Oman, month after previous sabotage of 4 tankers; two tankers now report incidents, alleged 'explosions' Iran media says tasnimnews.com/fa/news/1398/0…
here is what we know:

40 minutes ago, around 8:30am reports of explosions were received, these allegedly were received by sources in Pakistan and Oman, and then reported in Iranian media.

And then disseminated to channels linked to those media.

Two "large" or giant tankers
Understand the situation:

The reports received were around the Gulf of Oman countries, we don't know location, but we know that Iran media says these were the reports.

Thread: It used to be that free societies had an advantage over unfree societies because of free media. The citizens of dictatorships would try to get access to foreign media. Now the dictatorship just has its own massive media arm and locals can't get access to foreign media.
It's really smart. Many authoritarian regimes have now created their own "progressive" media outlets that only operate abroad and critique foreign countries internally...never critiquing the dictator at home. We know who those media are. And we know how powerful they are
These media are very smart because they hire westerners to appear western and simply tell everyone they can't critique the home country. Nationalist at home, "progressive" abroad.

Moments ago, an anti-tank missile was fired from Lebanon towards a community in northern Israel. Details to follow.
Anti-tank missiles fired from Lebanon hit IDF military positions in northern Israel. We returned fire toward the source of the attack in southern Lebanon.

We will continue to update as the situation develops.
Hezbollah fired 2-3 anti-tank missiles from Lebanon, hitting an IDF military outpost and ambulance in northern Israel. We fired at the Hezbollah squad responsible. No Israelis were injured in the attack.
