Self-avowed Nazis aren’t just favorably comparing Trump to Hitler, they see Trump as their Hitler-Messiah ™
This isn’t a fluke. They aren’t flocking to Trump because they are stupid.
They clearly understand his continuous, barely veiled comments and actions in support of their repulsive movement.
Trump’s racism is thoroughly engrained & goes back decades. See #Birther, #CentralPark5 or his housing discrimination lawsuit (of 1973).
If u voted 4 Trump but want to claim you don’t support racists, you’re asking us to believe you pay zero attention to who you vote for...
… farfetched considering how much media attention this egomaniac received.
If Trump were simply inexperienced, crass, self-serving, or egotistical it would make him unfit to hold the highest office in the land.
If he were simply a con man, a pathological liar or a fraud it would be shameful for our country to have voted him president.
That he is ALL of these things and also promotes racism, white supremacy and hate is an absolute travesty.
When I say he promotes racism and white supremacy, I mean it quite literally - #FireBannon #FireGorka #FireMiller #FireSessions
He is a divisive scourge the likes of which our country has never seen.
The good news is that Republicans are joining Democrats and independents in denouncing this new wave of hatred.
They are standing up to Trump in numbers we’ve never seen before.
Maybe, like #DylannRoof, this tragedy can help expose ugly truths lying in plain sight, & right wrongs that have been festering for decades
It is always in acknowledging the gap between our ideals and our reality when we have mode the most progress.
I for one am optimistic that we can unite around the ideals that have always made this country truly great. #ThanksForReadingThisFar
