Before the conflict between the RSF and Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) began, the accounts portrayed Hemedti as a reformist general and potential leader. After fighting started, as a hero. Often the accounts posted identical content, including replies, within seconds of one another.

Our team reviewed 4,882 accounts and found that some very old accounts, most of which had been dormant for many years, suddenly began tweeting between December 2022 and February 2023 at what appeared to be a random combination of words and a date
After the random posts, accounts started liking content posted by Hemedti/RSF. However, almost none of the 900 accounts actually followed Hemedti or the RSF. Trying to appear authentic, accounts sometimes tweeted out Quran verses and inspirational quotes, often simultaneously.
Remember #Predator mercenary spyware was delivered to #RSF, the militia attempting the coup in #Sudan right now.

This was naturally detrimental to #Sudan 's transition towards civilian democratic rule & a set back for the civilian revolutionary forces, who had finally removed ELBeshir after more than 30 years of dictatorship, Genocide, War & economic sanctions. So what did the US do?
The framing of the #Sudan current conflict as a proxywar between the #UAE backed #RSF & #Egypt backed #SAF is not only wrong, but one of the dumbest misinformed takes one could have about this situation. Rivalled only by the take that supporting the Generals wud lead to democracy
The #SAF-#RSF war across #Sudan 🇸🇩 is not just a power struggle between #Burhan and #Hemedti, it is a clash of two military generations. Two vastly different cultures of warfare, each with a desire to dominate Sudan and have the other one be the scapegoat of decades of misery.
Burhan represents the old guard, the generals who took power in 1989 and have basically ruled #Sudan 🇸🇩 ever since. The SAF is a responds to ower struggles with coups and to rebellions with sieges and bombardments. It is a classic Arab military, similar to the EGA 🇪🇬or the SAA 🇸🇾
Hemedti is the challenger. He represents the warlord generation, his irregular RSF was founded from the "Janjaweed" militias, which were created to do the SAF's dirty work.
