The Gardis are basically a group of tribes such as Bhils, Vanzaras, Pardhis, Mahadeo Koli, Masan Jogi residing mostly in Marathwada region. They were especially renowned for ther skill in artillery and handling cannons, and they served the Peshwas as their personal guards.
Ibrahim Khan Gardi was initially serving with the Nizam, and had fought against the Marathas during the famous Battle of Palkhed, renowned for his artillery skills on the battlefield.

Manmath Nath Gupta's book They Lived Dangerously is one of the best accounts of the Hindustan Republican Association, the Kakori plot, while Sachindranath Sanyal's Bandi Jeevan is an excellent depiction of Cellular Jail, where he was a prisoner.

Bum La Pass, 37 km from Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh, at around 15,200 ft above sea level, was part of an old trade route that went from Tawang to Tsona Dzong in Tibet.
Usually covered with snow all through the year, this was the route used by Dalai Lama, when he escaped Chinese occupation of Tibet .It also has the beautiful Sangetsar Tso Lake, also called the Madhuri Lake, after a song featuring her in Koyla was picturized here.

#BhagatSingh was descended from a family of Khalsa Sardars, who had fought in Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s army against the Pathans, and helped the empire to expand. For this contribution, they were awarded with a large piece of land.
His grandfather Sardar Arjun Singh was a landlord himself, who choose to oppose the British, and that nationalism in a way came down to Bhagat. Arjun Singh had 3 sons- Ajit Singh, Swaran Singh and Kishen Singh, all of whom were noted for their nationalism and integrity.

Ardeshir Tarapore was born in Mumbai on August 18, 1923, his father Burzorzi Tarapore, was employed in the Customs Dept of Hyderabad State, under the Nizam, and was a scholar of Persian and Urdu.
One of his ancestors Ratanji Ba, had served in the army of Shivaji Maharaj, and as an acknowledgement of his bravery and loyalty, he was gifted a 100 villages by the Chattrapati. One of them was Tarapur, which became the family name too.
