We have been against raising taxes from the moment it was rumoured.

Today, we can reveal our plan to cut over R23 billion from non-strategic expenditure, more than enough to fund a national vaccination programme WITHOUT raising taxes:…
We built this plan from our analysis of last year’s budget, together with the submissions of over 22,000 South Africans who participated in our #CutTheFat campaign.

Thank you for sharing your views on how government can #CutTheFat instead of raising taxes.
We can cut R235 million just by getting rid of all Deputy Ministers, their support staff and other benefits.

Deputy Ministers add no value to Cabinet and serve only as a tool of ANC patronage.

Without our shop staff, nurses & bin men during lockdown, we'd have been starving, dead or living in our own sh*t.
Have the Tories forgotten that already?
It's working class people who've been keeping us alive more than any hedge fund manager.
It's working class people who've been less able to work from home, and therefore more exposed to Covid 19 so...
It's working class people who've sacrificed the most during 2020-1.
Therefore statistically...

Middle class: Job + work from home - travel costs.

Working class (unless furloughed/fired) : Job + travel + extra safety procedures + PPE + viral danger + childcare but with less academic support + downgraded A-Levels - Wages.

PM SVANidhi Yojana, for those who are constantly accusing us of dealing with cronies - SVANidhi doesn't go to cronies. Damads get land in states which are governed by some parties - Rajasthan, Haryana once upon a time: FM Nirmala Sitharaman in Lok Sabha

'Hum 2 hamare 2' is that - we're 2 people taking care of party & there are 2 other people who I've to take care, daughter & damad will take care of that. We don't do that. Rs 10,000 is given to 50 lakh street traders as working capital for 1 year. They aren't anyone's cronies: FM
Where are the cronies? They're hiding probably in the shadow of that party which has been rejected by the people. The shadows who were invited to even develop a port. They invited, no open tenders, no global tenders: FM Nirmala Sitharaman

When looking at financial numbers the context and change over time is important. So a fiscal deficit in Year 20X1 of 5% can only be understood by looking at the time trend over a few years. So here's some time trend charts about #Budet2021 for #India.
1st the fiscal deficit Image
The fiscal deficit is the gap between A)Total expenditure by the Government and B) the sum of revenue receipts (tax + non tax), loan recoveries, other receipts(these are mainly PSU disinvestments). This is the gap that has to be plugged by the Government borrowing money
#Budget2021 forecasts that the interest the Govt expects to pay for accumulated Govt debt (+ any new borrowing in-year) at 8.1 lakh crores). This makes most sense when seen as a proportion of revenue expenditure. Image

Well, for every rupee in govt coffers, 53paise will come from direct& indirect taxes,36p from borrowings &other liabilities,6p from non-tax revenue like disinvestment&5p from non-debt capital receipts
GST will contribute 15paise in every rupee revenue, corporate tax will contribute 13paise to each rupee earned;8paise for every rupee, will come from union excise duty,3paise from customs duty&income tax will yield 14paise to every rupee collected

Fiscal math has been worked out💪
