God wounds

I have noticed mostly in Facebook people saying that they can't pay allegiance to a God who let's small children get and die of cancer or a God who can't stop the many catastrophes happening daily. I'll try to explain why most God wounds are a misrepresentation of Him

God is sovereign but man has dominion over the earth

God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and replenish the earth and SUBDUE it. Rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
Gen 1:28

In essence God's hands are tied to the actions of man. Man literally has authority and dominion over the earth that's why God will answer prayers n change courses of catastrophes once man stands in his place. E.g. the response that God had when the Ninevites repented in Jonah.

The biggest problem with many is how people die prematurely. I want to front some reasons why it happens

1. Ignorance of the promises of God

Even in a court of law ignorance is no defence. I'll give three examples of promises for divine protection.

That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;
Genesis 22:17 KJV

We can posses the gate of premature death n shut it.

A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
Psalms 91:7-8

Again the same God who says the number of our years He'll fulfill in Exo 23:26

No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord .
Isaiah 54:17

Premature death ❌

This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare;
1 Timothy 1:18 KJV

We should take these promises and many many more and wage a good warfare for us and our beloved coz

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, ♡and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.♡
Hebrews 11:6

2. Sin

When we are living in unrepented sin we'll experience death

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 6:23

Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.
John 5:14 KJV

When Jesus heals the man at the pool of Bethesda He clearly makes a connection between sin and sickness/death.

Also coz of sins of others in our lives

His disciples asked Him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned. But it happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him.
John 9:2-3

We repent n Jesus our advocate will clear our names in the courts of heaven.

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful n just 2 forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1 John 1:8-9

How do we know if there's sin from our past. A good study is in Deuteronomy 28:15-68. That's a comprehensive curses that can come on us because of sins esp if they are cyclical.

God will reveal to us in dreams, visions, thru His messengers if we have cases against us in the courts of heaven that could explain cyclical patterns of premature deaths, illnesses, poverty etc. In fact God can give us heaven intelligence 2 pray with 2 cancel these b4 they occur

3. Unbelief

It's estimated about 2m had left Egypt but only 2 adults Caleb and Joshua made it to Canaan. Because they didn't believe the God who had removed them from Egypt could safely take them to Canaan therefore their bones were scattered in the wilderness literally.

How to get over unbelief is by simply repenting and asking God to give us faith to see things the way He sees them since 👇is His promise

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
Jer 29:11

4. God getting glory

Lastly God will do things so that He can get glory. God will use His friends as exhibits but always with an upgrade in mind for them. E.g. Job, this man is a reason many hold on to longer to the promises of God today because he modelled perseverance 4 us.

Also Hannah, Elizabeth, Samson's mum were all in waiting for children but when God came they all received children whose names remain in history upto today Samuel, John the Baptist and Samson respectively. They also modelled perseverance and persistence in prayer.

Stephen and the Apostles of old died gruesome deaths but each of their deaths brought such a great harvest in the kingdom of God. Stephen was a big factor in Apostle Paul coming into faith because of how Stephen took his death with such grace and a seed was sowed in Paul.

And when the blood of thy martyr Stephen was shed, I also was standing by, and consenting unto his death, and kept the raiment of them that slew him.
Acts 22:20 KJV

Therefore unless death is to bring God's glory as martyr the rest of us this is our lifespan 👇

The years of our life are seventy, and if by reason of strength eighty; yet their length is toil and sorrow, for they soon end, and we fly away.
Psalms 90:10

Lastly I know many will say that this God expects so much from us! We work hard 4 insurance, have savings etc. A firm relationship with God is insurance enough even 4 our generations

His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.
Psa 112:2
